Frequently asked questions

What do I need to use ToneRig?+

An iPhone or iPad, a class-compliant USB audio interface, and an instrument. Connect your guitar to the interface, plug the interface into your device, and you're ready to build a rig.

How do I load a NAM model?+

In Edit mode, tap the NAM slot in your signal chain and choose “Load NAM Model” to import a .nam file from your device, or “Browse TONE3000” to sign in and download tones.

Where do my presets and files live?+

Everything — presets, imported .nam models, and .wav impulse responses — is stored locally on your device. ToneRig does not upload or collect them.

I hear feedback or the sound is too loud.+

High-gain models can produce loud output and feedback. Lower your monitoring level, and disable direct/hardware monitoring on your audio interface so you don't hear the dry and processed signals at once.

The app isn't receiving any signal.+

Check that your interface is connected and selected, that your instrument is plugged into the correct input, and that the input isn't muted. The tuner's “Waiting for signal” screen is a quick way to confirm input is reaching the app.

How do I request a refund?+

Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com — we can't process refunds directly.
